Im Vern (they•she), a Minnesota based artist working in biomaterials and performance based installations. My intentions are to bring awareness to castaways and unseen bodies, conceptually and materially. I’m interested in the way bodies are entwined with systems and one another. I utilize metaphors of composition and decomposition in my materials and practice. I work in recycled and grown materials including SCOBY, mycelium, porcelain, charcoal, found object, and sound.

I graduated with my BFA in studio arts from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I’m a current resident at Second Shift studios in Saint Paul. I’m currently developing my studio practice in the bio arts and working on curatorial and collaborative projects.
